Leicester Vs Everton By Alex Merson

Leicester City FC latest news - LeicestershireLive

Leicester welcome the Toffees to the King Power Stadium on Monday night, in yet another huge game for the race to stay up in the Premier League. Both teams sit in the relegation zone, however a win for either would likely see them rise out of the bottom three going into the final 4 games of the season.

Neither team comes into the game with much form to boast about, however a win against Wolves and a draw at Leeds for Leicester has seen their survival hopes risen drastically, however no wins in 6 and taking just 3 points out of a possible 18 for Sean Dyche’s Everton has dropped them into a position that begins to become dangerous territory this late in the season.

Leicester’s decision to sack manager Brendan Rodgers certainly left the Foxes’ fanbase with some mixed opinions, however things have looked promising under Dean Smith, and they will be hoping it can continue. The main struggle for Everton has been scoring goals, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has found himself on the sideline for most of the season and there hasn’t been much answer to their problems. They have a league worst 25 goals, scoring 12 goals under the xG, one of the highest in the league.

As for Leicester, conceding goals has been the main problem for them, and the goalkeeper position has been the biggest problem. Daniel Iversen has found himself as the number one after Danny Ward being dropped due to his poor form throughout the season. However, going forward things are starting to look promising. Jamie Vardy has starting to find his feet after a rough few month, scoring a late equaliser against Wolves and winning a penalty in the win against Leeds, and he will be hoping he can keep it up if given the chance to start.

For both teams, this game could be the one that decides their fate and whether or not their team will be playing Premier League football next season and it is a massive game for teams around them in the fight for survival.
