Wesley Fofana heading to Chelsea…

The biggest Leicester City transfer rumour of the summer is that Wesley Fofana could make a top 6 move to Chelsea. They have been interested in Fofana for the last fortnight and have apparently submitted a bid already for him around 50-60 million.

With all these rumours going around on socials. Fofana is making these rumours more and more convincing, with removing “LCFC” from his social bio’s, and also posting questionable stories on his Instagram.

Leicester City transfer situation is tight and the only way to bring new players into the club is by selling. This might be the best solution, and then pump the money from Fofana into 2 or 3 first team players to combat losing Fofana.

Brendan Rodgers has stated that Fofana is “Not for Sale”, but we all know if the price is right, he will surely make that move.

We dont want to lose such a quality player, but you guys think he will keep insisting to make that move to Chelsea???

We asked LeicesterFanTV editor Phil what he thought about Fofana, as well as the other rumours with Kasper and Madders, here is what he told us…

“Here’s my take on what could happen…. Kasper goes (I think we all know that is happening) … Newcastle offer £55m and a keeper for Madders. We get to replace Kasper with their experienced keeper…. Martin Dúbravka (played 115 times for Newcastle) so is a “decent” immediate option for LCFC. Then CHELSEA offer £50-60m and offer Levi Colwell (young talented CB ) as cover replacement for Wes and they also give us Ruben Loftus-Cheek as well, who replaces Madders in midfield.”

Phil went onto say… “LCFC lose Kasper, Madders and Wes but gain Loftus-cheek, Colwill and Dubravka …. And also pocket around £100m in cash. You can debate wether we are weaker or stronger then (I suggest slightly weaker) but as business goes to do those deals and end up with £100m war chest to add maybe a winger as well…. Well I could see this deal perhaps coming off ???? “

Strong words and here was the fans reactions to Phils thoughts…

Neil Towers
“The problem is the amount of players in the squad. We’ve Hamza, Perez, Bertrand, and one of Mendy or Soumare at least who are not going to make the squad. Hence why Kasper won’t be replaced. Madison and Little Wes would have to replaced with similar players so selling them doesn’t solve the squad imbalance problem.”

Christian Algemo
“1) I can’t see that a new keeper is needed. Give Iversen a chance, he is now 25 and still seems to develop well.
2) Loftus Cheek is a limited player and highly overrated.
3) Levi Colwell, honestly I don’t know much about that lad.
I would set a a price tag at at least 75M each. Not interested, well then they can walk away and stop disturbing with nonsense bids.”

T.J. Chapman
“Don’t want any other teams cast offs! They aren’t good enough to get into their current teams & anyone who dubravka or loftus-cheek would be good additions is frankly either clueless or delusional. Levi colwill might turn out to be decent, but I wouldn’t bank on it.”

Ian Turlington
“Much weaker. Colwill is unproven at EPL level and one to develop for the future. Loftus cheek a massive step down from Madders and is on high wages. The Newcastle keeper will be OK for a couple of seasons but still no where near at Kasper’s level.”

Paul Sherwood
“That’s a horrible thought for me.
Losing madders to Newcastle would be the worst. He’s our best player, our main creator. But worse, we are currently a more successful club and more attractive proposition to Newcastle. It would be the death knell of lcfc if this happened for the fans. Wes is slightly different, he’s going to go I think, because the money offered is stupid. I can take a player going to Chelsea.
We don’t want loftus cheek, we don’t need him.
