In the past couple of days, it has been leaked that the so called ‘top six’ of the Premier League want to do a takeover, giving them more power above the other teams in the league…
This is absolutely nuts, right?!

a breakaway league was suggested as a “threat” by organisers of this ‘big picture’ takeover according to Football Association chairman Greg Clarke.

So, what is this ‘Project Big Picture’? Reading this article will help you understand what it is all about, and help you understand the bigger picture amongst the reaction to some of the content teams views on it!

To start with, they want to reduce the league size from 20 to 18 teams, with the ‘top six’ and it’s +3…
With this, they want to scrap the Carabao Cup, and completely get rid of that competition. This is because the so called ‘top six’ are always competing in Champions League and Europa League, and they think the Carabao cup is pointless and they don’t want it anymore…
What do you think to the Carabao Cup? it is another chance to lift silverware, so a lot of the clubs are happy to compete in this competition.

furthermore to this story, it sounds like this proposal would offer the EFL Championship, League 1 & League 2 a massive amount of money, in £250 Million, plus 25% of ‘future Premier League revenue’
The purpose of this is to subsidise losses that was caused by COVID-19, whilst trying to address the imbalancement of cash difference between the Premier League & the Championship and the rest of the Football pyramid.

This sounds pretty good right? Well here is the deeper meaning towards the system. However, the plans that have been created have controversy as the price of the Premier League clubs apparent generosity would be that the nine longest-surviving clubs in the Premier League, including the big six, would be handed all the power in votes
Only six of the nine clubs need to vote to enable a major change in the future decision-making processes…

To end this, it would allow the Premier League to sell up to eight of their matches directly overseas to bring in more traction and get global brands of the big six…

This is what some of the content team had to say on this Top Six takeover…

“This is a ridiculous thing to even be talking about. Reading this and cutting out all the fancy words and getting to the chase, they’re basically saying that we will bribe the EFL, allow the top six and the so called ‘big clubs’ of the Premier League to take control and decide on what happens in the future. This is awful from them, and i can’t believe that this might happen! It will make the already mega-famous clubs even bigger and bring in more money, whilst the majority of the other side to the Premier League will suffer. This would turn the Premier League from one of the best leagues in the world to just another bog standard club, with the best teams getting better, and the other teams not even having a chance, like LaLiga does with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid always being the top clubs, and no one else in the running for a chance, that’s what makes the Premier League one of the best! As we saw the other week when Leicester beat Man City 5-2 away! If this take over happens we will lose the Premier League magic…”

“This is what the “big” clubs have wanted for years, a move towards a smaller Premier League and a European League system… which we almost have now anyway.
It annoys me, as Leicester are of course not a traditional “big 6 club” but having WON the Premier League, and competed in the Champions League and Europa league in the last 4 years, it is most frustrating. Spurs haven’t won the top title since 1961… so why for example are they in this “elite” group ? Clubs like WOLVES and Burnley dominated the system 60 years ago, so whose right it is to say we are “the top 6” and if they get these double votes, they will always be able to monopolise any decision and continue their dominance. Do not vote for this !!”
