Real Madrid get behind their Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin after Russia invades his country - Football España
Could this be our new Keeper?!

Rumour has it that Andriy Lunin from Real Madrid is looking at a move away to another club, and it appears that Tottenham Hotspurs and Leicester are the first clubs interested in signing the young goalie…

Here are some of his stats!

He joined Real Madrid back in 2018 at the age of 19 year old, looking to become a prospect in the Real Madrid side in future years. Since signing for them he has been out on loan for 3 seasons after playing for Leganes making only 5 appearances in the league for them, then joining Valladolid but making 0 appearances for them in the second division in Spain and for his final spell he made over 20 appearances for Oviedo making a name for himself and showing Real Madrid why they signed him.

But after coming back from loan spells he has only made 2 appearances for the Spanish Giants behind 1st team keeper Thibaut Courtois, and it looks like Real Madrid are looking at signing David Ospina for 2nd keeper option, and Lunin want regular football!

He is a 23 year old Keeper from the Ukraine, showing some prospect as a young, talented Goalkeeper, but would he join Leicester to be Num.1 or a bench player?!

Why would he join Leicester City?!

So, why would he want to join us here at Leicester City?!

Kasper Schmeichel has come out earlier in the season and said that he wants to play Champions League football before he retires, but we can’t offer him that at Leicester City next season, and we won’t get any kind of European Football this season, so Will our Number.1 and Skipper leave this season?

Danny Ward… Is he GOOD enough to step up to the plate? He made his first Premier League appearances for us against Watford after joining us 4 years ago, and has been Leicester’s Number 2… Should he get the number 1 spot in the LCFC shirt!? A lot of fans don’t think he is good enough to be our new number 1 if Kasper leaves, what do you think?!

Would Lunin come in and do the job?! Is it a lot to ask for a keeper than has not played in the PL, and is it the way forward for Leicester City? Should we invest in more quality players rather than a player that hasn’t had the experience…

Fan views on Lunin

“He seems like an OK defender, but I would not trust him to come in and be the new number 1. I could see him coming in and becoming our new back-up keeper, but that’s with a few things in mind. If kasper goes, I would not want Ward to become the new number.1 and Lunin be the bench player, we should invest in quality keepers that we need to progress forward, someone like Nick Pope who is playing in a near relegated Burnley side” – Sam

“It’s a step backwards if you ask me. He might be a prospect player, but we should be for HERE and NOW not players that could become good in a few years etc… We’ve spent so much money on crap players that have come in and done nothing, and this season we have seen us waste money on ‘prospect players’ and we’ve dropped places by a country mile from last season because they ‘weren’t ready’ for the league, which is poor by my standards. To progress as a club, we need to sign ready to play players!” – Phil
