Leicester targeting Ivorian winger from Atalanta…

Leicester City are interested in signing Atalana winger Jeremie Boga, after not sealing a permanent deal for Ademola Lookman.

Jérémie Boga is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Serie A club Atalanta. Born in France, he represents the Ivory Coast national team.

Coming through Chelsea’s youth system, Boga spent the 2015–16 season on loan to Rennes and the 2016–17 season with Granada, also on loan, before making his first-team debut for Chelsea in August 2017. He then joined EFL Championship club Birmingham City on loan for the remainder of the season. In 2018, he moved to Italian club Sassuolo on a permanent deal.

This window, Ex Leicester City player, Ademola Lookman made a permanent move to Atalanta in the Italian league. And now he looks to be a impressive starter in there side, pushing Boga out of the side. Which does make LCFC fans wonder why we didnt just sign Lookman whilst we had the chance!

That said, Leicester City are still without a Mahrez replacement after this many years. And maybe Jeremie Boga could be the successor! After the likes of Ghezzel, Under, Lookman and Diabate not proving themselves as first team quality.

Jake’s take on the Jeremie Boga possible signing – “Boga is a player that ticks boxes for LCFC. He has pace, he is skilful, and he can score goals. My only concern is that he has been pushed out of the Atalanta team, by none other than Ademola Lookman himself (who we could have bought earlier in the summer). I guess this showcases just how our transfer window has gone, and leaving things to the last minute was always going to be an issue for us. Hopefully if Boga signs, he showcases everything we have been missing as a winger since Mahrez left us for Manchester City. Only time will tell, and hopefully we can push this one over the mark before the transfer window closes as we are weak on that side of the wing. And lets also hope we don’t faff with a loan or buy situation (Atalanta want to sell Leicester want to loan) and get this one over the mark. After all, theres only a few hours to go before the window is shut until January…”
