A 4-1 win on the final day of the season for Leicester seemed to go unnoticed by many in the media, with other events in the premier league taking centre stage.

Goals from Maddison Vardy and a late brace from Ayoze Perez cancelled out a James Ward Prowse penalty. The first goal had an air of controversy around it, with Kasper seemingly giving the ball back to Southampton, but Jamie Vardy pounced on Southampton’s inability to clear, and his shot rebounded to Madders to score his 12th Premier League goal of the season, giving him his best return, 20 minutes later, Vardy got in behind again and after sending Lyanco the wrong way put it past Mccarthy.

James Ward Prowse gave Southampton a chance from the penalty spot after Youri fouled Armstrong, but Ayoze Perez popped up with his first goals of the season to put the result beyond doubt,

So, for Brendan Rodgers and Leicester, it was a top 8 finish, which seemed impossible just months ago. It also shows a sign of how far the Foxes have come that some will view this as a disappointment, and it’s very much a case of what could have been if injuries hadn’t ravaged the side. City picked up 41 out of 72 points with Vardy compared to just 11 from 42 without him, showing the talisman is as crucial as ever

However, the biggest concern for next season will be the defending from set-pieces; that alone has cost Leicester multiple times this season, and if they want to upset the big six again, that’s where they have to start.
