First loss of the season…

So, after a poor weekend match against a decent West Ham side, we can now reflect on the match and see what went wrong.
We all saw this coming, after going to the Etihad and putting 5 goals past a good Manchester City side, to then come home and get bullied around the pitch and lose 0-3…

First off, we looked solid in the first 15 Minutes, and we looked like we would go on to score, but from a really good play started by Antonio and finished by him with a flying header into the bottom left corner, we saw our form drop and the second goal came from poor marking, and playing Fornals onside to score the second for West Ham.
Both goals before the break where defensive errors, and we still had the time and chances to go on and score, but the big players did not turn up to the match.

In the final 10 minutes of the match it was still 2-0 to West Ham, but again sloppy defending and playing them onside lead to Bowen scoring the 3rd and final goal of the match, ending Leicester’s winning streak to the season and going into the international break on a small downer. We have done so well to get 9 points out of 12 so it has been a good start for us, and if we keep this form up it will be a good top six fighting position again!

This is what Leicester Fan Tv’s Sam had to say…
“It all starts with positions, and i think the lack of depth we have at the moment. First off we set up like this against an attacking Man City side, and get them on the counter attack, which evidently worked. But, we set up the same against a West Ham side that put 11 men behind the ball and counter attacked like we did against Man City, and it clearly worked as they won 3-0. You can’t set up like that at home, it allows the opposition to push, and we played with wingers and wing backs, with not much depth in the middle. I also think we lacked tracking, we set up to let them counter attack, but we didn’t track back well at all, and i think that our mistakes came from the defense, especially JJ on the left side for me, which shows we need an out and out Left Back…”

Here are the match stats, yes you’re reading that right, we had 70% possession, but we didn’t have a SINGLE shot on target…

What do you make to the match Leicester fans? Was it a down to earth moment for Leicester or was it just an off day at the office for us?
