Well, if you were at the match, Wasa’s FINAL match yesterday, you would have seen the guy, a BIG BIG fans favourite, take himself up the side of the pitch around the 78th Minute, to warm himself up, for what we were all expecting was going to be an emotional last 10 minutes on the pitch, so He and WE could all see one final flurry of Gladiator style play. The crowd were chanting his name, and we were all starting to see a WASA header to win us the game. Well the 83rd minute passed, as did the 84th…. and 85th, and 86th…. by the 89th we started to wonder how long was Wasa going to get, at least 2 -3 minutes so we could cheer him on, surely….. surely, that was going to happend wasnt it. Wasa was still warming up as the 90th minute showed. Come on Shakey, do the right thing, we want Wasa. The FANS want to say goodbye properly.

The Wasa realised he was NOT going to get to come on, so trudged back up and sat down.

If you ask US here we think we should have took Slimani OFF with 10 minutes to go and put WASA UP FRONT ! That way he couldnt have let a goal in and he just maybe would have scored the winner… it COULD have been a master stroke by Shakey… instead, we all had to witness something very sad.

He looked GUTTED. AND the FANS were gutted. In fact, post match, most fans – not all fans – but most fans have vented dissapointment at Shakey for not bringing the Big guy on…. here are a few views from the many many we had, and to be fair there was SOME fans who though Shakey was right, as Leicester were chasing a win, but generally, this did NOT go down well with most fans….

Robert Pooley
“It’s shameful, some fans saying it wasn’t a charity match, “no it wasn’t” but this big fella played a massive part in the survival season with Huth and Morgan as a back 3. He showed loyalty to us, we showed total disrespect to him, and for me Shakey showed poor class in giving the lad his final runout.”

Josh Hemsley
“We were chasing the game, I would have been tempted to send him on up front though”

Simon Brown
“What sentimental nonsense. We were playing to win the game for an extra 5 million pounds! What do you expect the manager to do, treat it like a testimonial?”

Marcus Cobley
“Terrible lack of judgement by Shakespeare. Wasy should have started today and would have been fiercely determined to sign off with a stellar performance.”

Robert Pooley
“it’s not the 5 million quid, we all moan and bitch when players just up and leave a club and show no loyalty, it wouldn’t have hurt bringing Wasl on for the final 20 mins. Let’s hope the club don’t show the same disrespect by not hiring Shakey, as that’s the same”

Sarah Ross
“Good luck in what ever u do next such a nice guy ! Should off gof to play today !”

Ivan Smith
“Finishing 12th or lower did it matter, money wise yes but give him 10 mins”

Steve Harrison
“As Shakey perfectly explained, he wanted to bring him on but sentiment goes out the window when trying to win a football match and anyone who disagrees with that is an idiot!
Just by finishing 12th instead of 13th we made an extra £2m and this is a business and not one where you go throwing money away based on sentiment. Ridiculous to even suggest it but then it’s not your money is it so why would you care?
I know your simple response would be they have enough but that £2m will cover a new players salary for a year at £40k/week.”

Jon O’Neill
“I like Was, he certainly seems a character but let’s get some perspective, he was here four years, played a grand total of 61 games, was never particularly good, we’re playing with three at the back trying to win a game of football, why on earth would we bring him on??]”

Tony ‘Frank’ Branson
“Disrespectful of Marcin and the fans.. He is one of a few players who has given everything to the club when he’s been called on.. Gutted for him and tearful myself when he went to the centre circle. He deserved his chance to bow out properly, Craig Shakespeare went down in my estimate not bringing him, shame on you Shakey..”

James Berry
“Shakespeare doesnt strike me as a sentimental manager, so wouldnt have been swayed by the crowd begging to bring Wasilewski on. It would have been nice but I didnt expect him to be brought on in all honesty.”

Thomas Ward
“defo, too right, absoloutely gutted for big was, i’d have given him the last 15 mins or so, and so what if he’d have maybe been at fault for a winning goal, I think shakey’s a great guy, and can’t thank him enough for steering us to safety, but that’s his first ‘schoolboy error’ he’s made since being in charge by not givin’ wasa a last run out”

Tony Chamberlain
“I think it was a little poor from Shakey that he couldn’t give him 90 seconds at the end. Of course the game mattered, but I’m not sure bringing Wasyl on for 2 minutes at the end would cost us the game.”

Mark Patrick Scoley
“Definitely should have come on not one of are best players but always had the right attitude not like some of them all the best Wasa”

Chris Evans
“I feel gutted for the bloke, and disappointed that we he fans could not give wasyl the final farewell he deserved, all the loyalty and commitment he gave to the club and we couldn’t say a final farewell”

Christina Cooke
“Yes I for one not happy with shaky he could have bought wasa on they could have gave him a better send off did not show much respect for him he will be missed by a lot of fans”

Neil Southerington
“Had we been in front he would have done it.
His duty is firstly to the owners and club, second the paying supporters.
Would have been fitting had it not been so close.”

Daniel Spence
“He deserved at least a few minutes at the end, I have to agree with those that commented that this was a disrespectful move on Shakey’s part.”

Martyn Jarrom
“Slap in the face if you ask me…. should of played instead of Fuchs filling in.”

Marek Morgan Morgiel
“He should be playing. He didn’t. Wasyl you are top man!”

Roger Nix
“Should have brought him on for at least 2/3 minutes there was nothing to lose …”

Matt Cummings
“Total disrespect ✊ praying shakey doesn’t get the job”

Peter Smith
“the hearts gone out of the club we need 2 change at least6 players and the manager.”

Mark S Beames
“Shakeys done what was asked – can’t see him getting the job tho”

Alli Allen
“Def should have brought him on. Where did our “we’re not like the rest” go ?”

Will Holloway
“He should have started…. At the very least got 5 mins at the end. Good send off after the match though….!”

Antony Hallick
“I think he should of been allowed at 10 minutes”
