Chelsea 2-1 Leicester City: Return of fans to Premier League football critical to Battle of the Bridge II - The Warm-Up - Eurosport

Second half goals from Ruidiger & Jorginho earned Chelsea a crucial victory over Leicester that took the above us into 3rd place, a massive match in the fight for Champions League…

Chelsea had the better chances of the first-half at Stamford Bridge, with Chilwell firing across goal early on Werner having one disallowed for handball and another for offside…

But eventually Rudiger broke the deadlock 2 minutes after the break, tucking the ball home after Chilwell’s corner flag was deflected into his path

Shortly after The Blues were awarded a penalty after VAR reviewed Fofana’s foul on Werner, which had originally been awarded a free-kick, and Jorginho sent Kasper the wrong way from the spot, making it 2-0

We substituted Kelechi on and he benefited from Ndidi’s pressing to reduce the score line to 2-1 with 14 minutes to goal, and Perez was presented with the chance to grab an equalizer, but he fired the shot miles over the crossbar, ending the match down in London with Chelsea taking all 3 points.

Chelsea held on to claim a victory that takes their points tally to 67, one more than Leicester’s 66.

This is what Leicester Fan Tv had to say about the defeat to Chelsea last night…
“It was a match we needed to win to get guranteed Champions League, but now it is out of our hands, and we are relying on Liverpool losing and Chelsea losing their final match, with us getting something against Spurs on the weekend. With this said, the Chelsea match was NOT the one to win, it was when we drew to a 10 man Southampton team and lose 4-2 to Newcastle are the matches we should have won, so if we don’t get Champions League we can’t blame it on tonight, we can blame it on other matches we have dropped points in. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguse, we have won the FA Cup, so we are already miles improved from last season, but if we don’t get Champions League, maybe it’s a sign that Europa League is good for us for another season, but it’s not over yet! Let’s just wait and see!”
