Europa Conference League: Kelechi Iheanacho's late strike lifts Leicester | Sport | The Times

Stade Rennes Vs Leicester City preview

Leicester City travel to Northwest France with a 2-0 lead in their pockets. But it won’t be an easy task.

Stade Rennais sit 4th in Ligue 1, just one point off 2nd and caused the Foxes issues at the King Power Stadium. Rennes also have the second-best goal difference in the league, 17 better than the third best and only five lower than PSG.

However, Brendan Rodgers does seem to have the Foxes purring having lost just two of their last eight, winning five including the 2-0 win over Rennes. Admittedly, in the win over Leeds and loss to Arsenal, Leicester were out played and put up disappointing performances.

The Europa Conference League may not have been a priority for the club, especially as Rodgers didn’t know what it was when they were relegated into it. But if they progress through this round, they’ll be into the quarter-finals and it will give them a route back into the Europa League if they can win it.

Predicted line-up:

Goalkeeper – Kasper Schmeichel

Right-Back – Marc Albrighton

Centre-Back – Daniel Amartey

Centre-Back – Jannik Vestergaard

Left-Back – Luke Thomas

Defensive Midfielder – Hamza Choudhury

Defensive Midfielder – Boubakary Soumaré

Right Midfielder – Ademola Lookman

Attacking Midfielder – James Maddison

Left Midfielder – Patson Daka

Striker – Kelechi Iheanacho
