5 subs rule…!

The FA and the Premier League have offically said that we are allowed to use 5 subs during a game. This is done because all players have not played for a few months, so it is giving 2 additonal players time to rest.

A few people do not think this is the best rule, as for the bigger clubs with a more in depth team, it does not change much as they play with different squads week in week out.

We asked you this question, and this is what you had to say…!

We have 3 teams currently left in Europe United in the europa league there qualified for next round man City have 2-1 aggregate agaisnt real Madrid and Chelsea have a huge 3-0 down on away goals to turn around in Germany agsint bayern. Arsenal have 5 games in 15 days man City have 5 games in 25 days not to mention there champions league tie. All of this with a real lack of match fitness it’s not to benefit teams in champions league it’s to protect players from unjiries

Exceptional times, exceptional rules, let’s just get on with it like most of us have been the last 10 weeks

Jason Hughes
Not really as they’re time related. For example you can’t bring all 5 on in the 89th minute

Jason Hughes
That’s how they do it in the Bundesliga

Ben Morgan
Always been the same in the Ivory towers at the f.a. trying to find new way to give there money spinning favourites from London, Manchester and Liverpool every advantage.

Darrell Bettinson
Can make upto 5 subs but can only make them 3 times in a game. So say 2 at half time then 3 in 2nd half 70/75mins. That’s my thinking anyway

Martin Butterly
totally think its wrong, how can you have a set of rules for a competition and 3 quarters of the way through you change them, wrong totally wrong. if you want to change the rules you do it at the start of the season.

Paul Sherwood
It makes no difference whatsoever. I doubt hardly any teams will activate 5 subs anyway.

Craig Bennett
I don’t think it’s a bad idea. Gives players a chance to impress if given the opportunity?

Philip Cooke
I think its a great idea but i doubt if Brendan Rodgers will give any U23 players a chance.Lets face it he hasn’t given one U23 player even a place on the bench in a league game since he’s been here.

Craig Spicer
Chris Hughton on talksport agreed with me earlier today that teams with bigger and better squads can use it more strategically than the likes of Sheffield United and Wolves that rely on a best 11 so to speak

Nick Chapman
What about teams with games in hand. They will have a clear advantage. A rested squad and extra subs for all the games in hand..
