Jamie Vardy continued his fantastic form against newly-promoted sides, adding two to his tally, meaning he has netted 26 goals since Leicester returned to the Premier League in 2014. This was arguably the Foxes best domestic performance this season in a 5-1 demolition of Watford in the hornet’s final home game of the season.

Brendan Rodgers awarded Danny Ward his debut, which ended captain Kasper Schmeichel’s impressive record of 149 consecutive league appearances. But Leicester’s Achilles heel struck again, with them conceding from a corner after being unable to clear their lines leaving the ball to Joao Pedro to smash home past the helpless Ward, making it the 16th goal they have conceded from dead-ball situations.

It was nearly two, with the left-back Masina striking the post from another corner, which is a significant concern for Brenden Rodgers and his staff. However, whilst Watford had the best of the opening 15 minutes with Ward producing an outstanding save from Pedro, the foxes took over after that, with a defensive error putting Youri through and the Belgian unselfishly passing to Maddison to make it 1-1 in the 18th minute.

Mads then turned provider with a delicate through ball over the top, forcing Foster to come and Vardy to head over him into the back of an empty net and giving them the lead at the break.

It only took 23 seconds of the second half for City to double their lead, with a deep cross from Albrighton finding a wide-open Barnes, who had it on a plate for him to finish.

Barnes then played Vardy through, and he did what he does best, prodding it past Ben Foster to make it four, but that still left time for Harvey to get himself a second  with a strike into the bottom right corner to end Watford’s misery

Leicester have two games left this season, Chelsea away and then finishing the season at the King Power against Southampton.
